Hosted by the latest addition to the Kuwaiti art scene, Aspen Gallery, the Iraqi expressionist painter presented her sumptuous creations on canvas.

Her contemporary interpretations of the walls of long ago build a visual bridge between ancient and modern Iraq, using a mixture of materials including solids and oils that give a near-leather texture to her engraving and colouring.

For Sora, the history and heritage of Mesopotamia are now seemingly forgotten by those in distance lands. Through her work, she seeks to keep alive the colours, shapes, shadows and symbols of a unique culture.
